JOURNAL

a not so scheduled summary of thoughts and happenings

us

last week we received our family pictures by the oh so talented aniya. of course i have looked at the images over and over again, trying to soak in every detail, every little nuance documented.

aniya and i had discussed our love of capturing natural moments and real life, and although i much rather be the one behind the camera, i wanted our family to be documented one, very normal, weekday afternoon.

i wanted to document the little things, things i may forget in time. the car rides, teenagers with earphones, arriving home, dinner prep and mealtime…

i see the wrinkles, the messy yard, the imperfect parts of the house, but i also see us. our connections and love. i know it is so important to document the special occasions and who doesn’t love pretty dressed up portraits. but my most favourite are the real, un-styled images. it is in those images that i find the little details that will forever be cherished.
